Seating Residents with Huntington's Disease
Seating someone with Huntington's Disease can be very
challenging. A Broda chair can help accommodate many of the issues. In mid to
late stage HD, a 785 Elite Tilt Recliner with HSP (Huntington's Special
Padding) is ideal.
Positioning: With up to 38° of tilt and 90° of
recline, the Broda 785 is ideal for containment and pelvic positioning. The back recline helps accommodate
hyperextension. The tilt and recline are
infinitely adjustable, allowing for numerous positioning
options.
Comfort: Broda chairs help to create a "cradling" effect that is comforting to
residents. Broda's Comfort Tension Seating(TM) also aids in comfort by
contouring to the resident, without bottoming out.
Safety: Broda's HSP padding helps to prevent resident injury as it covers a
great deal of the frame. Our gas springs help absorb
the shock of aggressive movements, so that the chair moves with the resident, thus helping to prevent
injury. Broda chairs also offer incredible stability.
Durability: With a 16 gauge tubular steel frame, Broda chairs are built to last. We
are known for our durability. |
